Cigar Smoking: Are Cigarettes More Damaging?

There are a lot of people out there who claim that smoking cigars is better than cigarette smoking as the risk of cancer is far less in the former than in the latter. In the hypothetical situation that we do take out the risk of cancer from the latter, we may have to look at the other problems that it causes. At the end of the day, both are nicotine dispatching tobacco sticks. How much difference can they have in their damaging capabilities? Let us take a look, shall we?

To put it bluntly, if you smoke your lungs will suffer. There are no two ways about it. The lungs are known to be the bridge between your air inlet and the cellular bodies that need to respire. The air gushing into your lungs is the way cellular oxygen requirements are supplied to the body. If the supply is filled with smoke then you can understand the harm that it may cause your body. To put it simply it harms the lungs, as the branches that channel the oxygen to the blood stream are harmed and persistent smoking causes persistent damage. There is no reason why Cigars should not cause this problem if it’s tobacco that is being lit.

Tobacco smoking also causes harm to the liver and has its role in causing damage to your reproductive fertility. Smoking is also known to cause short breath and a range of other breathing problems. Now add to that the fact that Cigar smoking also leaves you vulnerable to cancer just as cigarettes do then you would come to the conclusion that both forms of tobacco smoking are equally harmful to the human body and there is no difference to either. So the next time they say cigars are better than cigarettes, don’t believe them.
